The parc Buffon in Montbard has 14 landscaped terraces. The grounds, designed by the naturalist himself in the 18th century, offer a magnificent view of the Brenne valley. Dotted throughout the park are remains of the old medieval fortress belonging to the Dukes of Burgundy: the Aubespin and Saint-Louis towers dating back to the 14th century, Saint-Urse church and the ramparts.
